T+1 means one trading day.
Not one calendar day.
India settles stocks at T plus 1 trading day, the default since 27 Jan 2023. Trading days skip weekends and holidays, so the same one-day rule can mean very different waits.

Calendar wait |
| Monday | Tuesday | 1 day |
| Wednesday | Thursday | 1 day |
| Friday | Monday | 3 days |
| Thu before a Fri holiday | Monday | 4 days |
There is a faster lane. T+0 same-day settlement is now optional on the top 500 stocks. Trade by about 1:30 PM, cash by about 4:30 PM the same day. It is opt-in and still rolling out, so unless you chose it, your sell is T+1.
