## Where it is

ScreenDashboard and PortfolioBasic

"Cash at broker" on the Dashboard's account row (in Advanced) with Fetch, then Refresh; "Cash, not invested" in a portfolio's Holdings table; "Broker cash available" on the invest sheet.

Index in this video: [Large Cap Multi Asset](/strategies/largecap-multi-asset) (the sample portfolio).

## What it means

Cash at broker is the spendable cash your broker reports for the account, read only when you tap Fetch or Refresh, with the time it was read ("as of"). A portfolio's "Cash, not invested" is the part of that portfolio's money its last action did not spend, for example the small amount left when a share price does not divide evenly. It is still in your broker account; RupeeCase never holds money. The Marketplace reads broker cash to say whether it covers a strategy's minimum.

## The formula

A portfolio's value = its holdings at the latest prices plus its cash not yet invested.

As computed in the RupeeCase app`Cash at broker = the broker's available cash for the account, when you tap Fetch or Refresh
Cash, not invested = the portfolio's cash balance less estimated charges
Value = holdings x latest price + cash not invested`

## Worked example

Example only

* Broker cash Rs 1,21,480 as of 10:42
* Portfolio: holdings Rs 2,54,885 + cash not invested Rs 18,535
* Portfolio value: Rs 2,73,420

## How to read it

* "Unavailable" means the broker did not answer; tap again.
* Broker cash is for the whole account; a portfolio's cash is its own share.
* The next rebalance or top up can use a portfolio's cash.

## Watch out

* Broker cash can be spent by orders placed outside RupeeCase.
* A withdrawal sells holdings; the money stays at your broker until you move it.
* Margin and pledged collateral are not the same as cash.
