## Where it is

ScreenCustomise, NumbersBasic

Customise, Every page, Numbers: Number grouping (Indian or Plain) and Rupee figures (Short or Full). The defaults are Indian and Short. Basic and Advanced.

Index in this video: [Allcap](/strategies/allcap) (strategy page).

## What it means

Indian grouping puts a comma after the thousands and then every two digits: 12,34,567. Plain groups every three: 1,234,567. A lakh is 1,00,000 and a crore is 1,00,00,000. With Short, large rupee figures read in lakh and crore (12.35 L, 1.2 Cr) with Indian grouping, or in K, M and B with Plain; under a lakh the exact amount shows. Full prints every rupee. Chart axes stay short, and figures from the broker side keep Indian grouping.

## The formula

1 lakh = 1,00,000 = 100 thousand. 1 crore = 100 lakh = 1,00,00,000 = 10 million.

As computed in the RupeeCase app`Short, Indian: from Rs 1,00,00,000 in Cr, from Rs 1,00,000 in L; at most 2 decimals, trailing zeros dropped
Short, Plain: B and M (2 decimals), K (1 decimal)
Full: every rupee, in the chosen grouping`

## Worked example

Example only

* Rs 12,34,567 in Short: 12.35 L
* Rs 2,25,000 in Short: 2.25 L; with Plain: 225K
* Rs 1,20,00,000 in Short: 1.2 Cr; with Plain: 12M

## How to read it

* The Numbers row shows your choice, for example Indian, short.
* Short is quicker to scan; Full is exact to the rupee.
* The choice is saved on this device for every page.

## Watch out

* Broker figures keep Indian grouping whatever you choose.
* Chart axes stay short in Full.
* Short rounds: Rs 12,34,567 reads 12.35 L.
