# Five green days, then a gap down to 24,000. Buy the dip

The Tanmay Edge, Season 2, EP64, Friday 19 Jun 2026, 10:55. Five straight green days, and now a gap down to test it. The Nifty closed at 24,168, up 82, its fifth green day and its second close above 24,000, and the Sensex settled its weekly expiry at 77,409.

## Scorecard

Grade 4/6 (67 percent): 3 hit, 2 partial, 0 mechanical, 0 miss. Graded the next trading day, 22 Jun 2026, against NSE settlement.

The call: Gap Down To 24,000 Buy The Dip

- HIT: the gap down open near 24000, the index opened 23,991.20 a 177 point gap below the prior 24,168.
- HIT: the buy the dip read, the low at 23,901.90 held the 23,900 line then snapped back to close 24,013.10. The downside extension under 23,900 to 23,800 scores N A, it was conditional and correctly never fired with the low at 23,902.
- PARTIAL: the FII tell, the structure was right with shorts added to 2.26 lakh and the upside capped at the 24,047 high with no run to 24200, but the cash direction was wrong, the official tally had FII buying 4859 cr while DII sold, partly rescued by the NSDL final FPI sell of 1807 cr.
- PARTIAL: the sector read, the IT rout was dead right with INFY down 6.69 and defence and PSU leading, but the financials lead leg failed with HDFCBANK down 2.32.
- HIT: the macro cushion, the index held 24,000 down only 0.64 percent on soft crude and a firm rupee. Three hits and two partials, the headline gap down to a buy the dip to 24,000 holds was nailed.
