Learn/Certificates/Verify
Check a RupeeCase certificate ID.
Type the ID printed on a certificate, or scan its QR code. Add the name on the certificate to check that the ID was generated for that name.
01What this checks
Three checks, all on this page.
- Format. RC, then P01 to P11 or SI (the master certificate), the issue date as YYYYMMDD, six characters and a check character.
- Check character. A Luhn check over the path, the date and the six characters. A mistyped or altered character fails it.
- Name. With the name printed on the certificate, the ID is computed again from the name, the path and the date. A match means the ID belongs to that name.
02What it cannot check yet
A records lookup is planned.
These checks run in your browser. They show that an ID is genuine in form and consistent with a name, a path and a date. They cannot show that the test was passed: the ID method is published on the certificates page, so anyone could compute an ID for any name. RupeeCase logs every certificate with its ID when it is created; checking an ID against that log needs a lookup on the server, which is planned. Until then, treat a match here as a consistency check, not as proof.
