RupeeCase vs smallcase

Model portfolios.
Or an algo like an index.

smallcase hosts model portfolios of stocks and ETFs built by managers, with updates you apply yourself. RupeeCase runs 18 rules based index algos that rerun on a fixed calendar, with each rebalance approved by you and placed by your own broker. Both keep the shares in your own demat; they differ in who decides each change, what is charged and what is published.

What is publishedEach basket page shows its methodology section, the manager and the minimum. The rule, every past rebalance list with its date in the rebalance record, and the model back test after costs (for example Allcap, 44.70% CAGR, model, back tested, as of 27 Apr 2026).

Model figures are back tested on NSE data after costs, as of the date shown: not client returns and not a promise of future returns. Brokerage, STT, stamp duty, exchange and depository charges apply on every route that trades shares. For the five routes an investor can take instead of a smallcase, read the guide on smallcase alternatives; for a basket next to one of our rules, the Allcap against a smallcase momentum basket page labels each column.

Sources and dates

Model figures are back tested, not actual client returns. Each date is when that source was last checked or published, not today.

02Questions

RupeeCase or a smallcase?

Straight answers, written to be quoted.

Is RupeeCase the same as smallcase?

No. Both keep the shares in your own demat with no lock in. smallcase hosts model portfolios built by many managers and by users; RupeeCase runs its own 18 rules based index algos, each a published rule on a fixed calendar, and charges 0.2% of traded value per rebalance on those retail strategies.

Does smallcase rebalance automatically?

No. smallcase says a rebalance update is not applied automatically: you get an alert, review the changes and apply them, and a missed update stays open until the next one or until you skip it. On RupeeCase the rule reruns on its published dates, you approve each rebalance, and your broker places the orders.

What does each one charge?

smallcase charges a platform fee of ₹100 plus GST on each lump sum buy, capped at 1.5% of the order, ₹10 plus GST per SIP order, and nothing on a rebalance or exit; fee based smallcases add a subscription set by the manager (smallcase fees page, 15 Jan 2026). RupeeCase charges 0.2% of traded value per rebalance on the 18 retail strategies and nothing on holdings. Broker and statutory charges apply on both.

Which has the lower minimum?

It depends on the basket. A smallcase shows its own minimum on each basket page, set by the share prices and weights inside it. RupeeCase minimums work the same way, one whole share of every holding, and run from ₹22,000 (5Paisa Focused Alpha 5) to ₹4,75,912 (Dynamic Asset Allocator), published minimums as of 8 Aug 2026.
